Through the process of evolution, natural selection, and breeding, the dogs we love and live with became omnivores.  We focus on the "Modern Canine" because they are no longer wolf-like. In 2022, a study showed that dog and wolf DNA have 72 regions that are no longer the same, including 10 specifically adapted for digestion.
